Description
Here we have a Montblanc 146 celluloid telescopic piston filler fountain pen, fitted with a flexible triple broad-BBB nib. The pen is in excellent condition, fully serviced with a fresh cork piston seal, model no and nib size imprint on the turning knob.
These celluloid pens are quite hard to find, slightly heavier with a warmer feel to the material; and the one big attraction to the 1950’s pens, other than owning a piece of vintage writing royalty, the nib; in most cases they are semi flex to full flex with the usual range of Montblanc nib options.
Some key features of the 1950s pens : made of celluloid, ebonite feed, telescopic filling piston the nib size and model details are imprinted on the turning knob, the ink window is a brown stripe and the Montblanc snow cap on the cap is more of an ivory colour against todays brilliant white.
The Montblanc 146 model is the mid size pen in the 140 series which continues today,; made of Special Resin, single stroke piston filler,14K nib and acrylic feed.
